Production

By now we had tested by designers layouts, game play ideas, and visual references and concepts. Also, we had better idea of what the key locations are. Finally, we could start building levels.

I worked closely with team of concept artists to ensure overall visual continuity, appropriate use of color and lighting. In turn, concept artists were working with 3D artist to ensure that our vision is well translated into 3D environments.

Below you will find paint-over of the New York skyline. This specific view was our first establishing shoot of the game. The player started at the top of an unfinished skyscraper. The second images shows the area in game.

The second mission, which takes place in front of the fallen Chrysler Building, is visually one of the most successful and my favorite. Originally, we build and used the Flatiron Building, but after some careful deliberation I convinced the producer and the designers that the Chrysler Building is more iconic and recognizable. I'm glad that I stuck to my guns.
